Publishing a one-sided article based on false information would not be fair and objective on their part, is that what they are up to?
Some of our panicked customers who canceled their reservations and, due to their own inattention, received their deposits back later, have reported their upset to CIN, who would like to publish a one-page article about us. In this article, of course, he blames VCL for any perceived or real harm to our customers, but strangely enough, he does not want to include VCL's response or evidence of this in his article! We do not consider this to be credible and fair information! Moreover!
Down below is the full official statement of our Vice President, included in this article!
Furthermore, we have informed the editor of CIN that the owner of VCL is willing to give a written interview without further ado (avoiding the manipulatively edited audio recording and its transcription), the pre-publication edited draft of which - by exercising our legal rights - our communication officers would like to review and approve. This was refused by the editorial staff! Would you allow yourself to be published in an article in which your position is not communicated and you have no say in the credibility of the content? I suspect you would be reluctant to do so, nor would we at the VCL!
Where is the honest, un-manipulated, objective reporting that the journalistic profession is meant to do, to inform people objectively, based on facts and not personal grudges?
Cruise Industry News (CIN) has received a request from Victoria Cruises Line (VCL) because of problems experienced by some passengers.
CIN has already published several reports on VCL, including the first time they contacted VCL to present the planned residential ship project.
VCL also signed an advertising contract with CIN, which VCL unilaterally terminated after 3 months.
After that, our relationship with CIN deteriorated, so that CIN could not be expected to provide readers with objective information about VCL. If CIN again publishes unilateral facts on its website, we will take the necessary legal action against CIN.
As long as VCL was paying CIN for the advertising, there was no problem with communicating only by email, with CIN sending questions and VCL always answering them.
We would also like to inform all customers, prospective customers or interested parties that if they have any complaints about VCL, they can find on our website and in the contract where to seek legal advice.
The media platform is not the place to seek a resolution to complaints. VCL Company will take the necessary legal action in all cases where it can be proven that a customer is publishing false, alleged or true allegations in the media.
There have been several instances where fake social media platforms have appeared under the name of Victoria Cruises, or where social media accounts have been opened under the names of our colleagues that were fake.
In several cases, we have received blackmail letters demanding money from us because otherwise, they would post fake content on the internet that would discredit VCL. In these cases, we filed a complaint and took legal action.
Sincerely: Marcell Herold
Vice President, Victoria Cruises Line
