San Diego- Us
San Diego's rich history dates back thousands of years, from the indigenous Kumeyaay people (who have lived in the area for more than 12,000 years) to the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors to the formation of the modern American city. In 1542, Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo was the first European to reach San Diego Bay and named the area San Miguel. In 1602, Sebastián Vizcaíno mapped the area again, changing the name of the city to "San Diego de Alcalá".
