Digital nomads work on the internet, with informal hours and schedules, usually as freelancers, to earn money and maintain a lifestyle of freedom.

The 3 groups of digital nomads

 

I could distinguish 3 groups based on my own views:

•  Young independent people aged 20-30 who want to discover themselves and the world. They like the fast pace of life. They do not have children yet.
• Quiet, withdrawn middle-aged people aged 35-50, such as writers, painters, home-office freelancers, intellectual freelancers and couples. They are either childless (this may be a conscious choice or for other reasons), but I have also met digital nomads travelling the world with their children. I have seen families travelling around Europe in a camper van, for example, or living on board a sail boat. What a great perspective this kind of expansive world view offers children, they can really live in the "you can be anything you want" sense of life.
• Over 50, "liberated," as I would call them, in the nicest sense. Their children are grown up, they're out of the house, and they themselves have realized that they want more than the merry-go-round. They want an adventurous life. They want to get more out of life than the system teaches you about.

And this approach - and I don't think I'm wrong to say this - is common to all the groups who have chosen to live a digital nomadic life.
